Practitioners’ wellbeing a ‘uniform’ priority 
Members may already be aware that one of my President’s Priorities for 2024 is the Wellbeing of Solicitors. In taking up this issue, I’m continuing the valuable work in this area by my predecessors Cassandra Banks and Joanne van der Plaat. Under these two past Presidents, our Staying Well in the Law series (affectionately known as SWitL) has gone from strength to strength. Lawyer wellbeing - multi-jurisdictional research initiative
The key regulators across all uniform law jurisdictions – the Law Society of NSW, Victorian Legal Services Board + Commissioner, and Legal Practice Board of Western Australia – are collaborating on a significant research project on the wellbeing of lawyers, workplace conduct and the ethical climate of legal workplaces. We need your support to ensure this research is as valuable as possible. You can do so by completing a survey by Australian National University and University of Melbourne  here.

The funeral for the Hon. Andrew Rogers AO KC will be held on Thursday 15 February 2024 at St Stephen’s Uniting Church, 197 Macquarie Street, Sydney at 1.00pm.
Specialist Family Violence List Court training seminars: Blacktown and the Downing Centre
Legal Aid NSW Domestic Violence Unit and DFV Perpetrator Interventions (DCJ), with the support of the Chief Magistrate’s Office, are supporting the facilitation of a one-day training seminar at each Specialist Family Violence List location for solicitors, court staff, prosecutors and DVLOs. The start of the pandemic brought rapidly changing regulations. Jahan decided to make daily videos explaining the updates to the everyday person. This gave birth to the "TikTok lawyer”, who garnered a following of over 350K and was featured in a Netflix documentary. He discusses the importance of social media for solicitors and the value of an audience who understands their rights.
