The Law Society of NSW is the peak regulatory and membership body for solicitors in NSW.
Representing the interests of almost 30,000 solicitors, we are the voice of the legal profession and have a long, proud history of guiding, supporting and educating our members.
Our profession-leading courses and conferences cover a spectrum of legal and business-related topics in both virtual and face-to face environments, providing the perfect opportunity to learn as you interact with peers and industry experts. We bring together representatives from the legal, political and business worlds to network, discuss ideas, exchange opportunities and forge friendships and solutions.
Throughout the year we deliver a number of products and services to members. Our Comprehensive Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program is one of the largest in Australia and includes a range of sessions covering law, skills, practice management, wellbeing and mandatory topics.
In 2018 we offered more than 240 CPD seminars designed for lawyers, meeting the needs of both city solicitors as well as those in regional areas.
Continuing Professional Development
Practising Certificate holders must comply with the Legal Profession Uniform Continuing Professional Development (Solicitors) Rules 2015 and complete ten CPD units each year.
