Connecting people
with the profession
Part of our role at the Law Society is to connect members of the public with the legal profession. Please note, however, that we do not give legal advice to the public. If you need legal help, please contact Law Access.
Find a Lawyer
Choosing the right solicitor, firm or mediator is the first step in achieving your legal goals. Our Find a Lawyer tool can help you find the right solicitor with the right skill set and location for your needs.
The Pro Bono Scheme
The Law Society's Pro Bono Scheme can put you in touch with law firms willing to provide legal services for free, or for reduced fees. This assistance can include legal advice, help with preparing documentation, and representation in court.
Make a complaint
The Law Society has a statutory obligation to maintain and improve the professional standards of the legal profession and to protect the public from inadequate advice and representation.
ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION
The Law Society runs and implements various Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) programs that are designed specifically to assist solicitors to resolve disputes in order to avoid the costs, uncertainty and delays of the courts.
Know your rights
Know Your Rights is our series of easy-to-follow guides to help you solve some of the most common legal problems.
Going to court and working with lawyers
We provide information and referral services that can help you quickly identify qualified solicitors who offer legal services appropriate for your needs.
Find a migration lawyer
If you have a migration issue or need to apply for a visa, a migration lawyer can help.
