Map your future: A panel discussion on legal career pathways
Learn more about the career pathways a law degree can open up for you. Our expert panellists from across the legal profession will share their personal journeys, along with tips, advice, and key lessons they’ve learnt along the way to inspire you as you commence your legal career. The discussion will explore both traditional and non-traditional pathways, essential skills for success, and strategies for maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Networking 101: Build confidence in professional networking, with Cathryn Urquhart
Build your confidence to network professionally. No-one is born with these skills, but they can be learnt and practised. Starting with the basics, this session focuses on the in-person networking event, including what you need to do to prepare, techniques to assist you at the event, and how to follow up. Self-doubt, nerves and discomfort are normal and can be managed with the right attitude.
Perfectionism, Performance, and Sustainable Success, Anna Fischer
Perfectionism is a uniquely tempting burden. Striving for excellence helps students and early career solicitors achieve incredible things, but true perfectionism is something different — and worse. This session will look at what perfectionism is, what it does to our brains, bodies, and relationships, and how we can neutralise certain harmful patterns of thinking in order to progress our careers sustainably.
