Nominations are free to all current Law Society of NSW Members.

To submit a nomination, follow these steps:

• Complete the Nomination Form: Fill out the nomination form available on our website or as provided by the awards co-ordinator.
• Prepare supporting documents: For the President’s Medal, you may wish to gather any required supporting materials, such as evidence of achievements, letters of recommendation, or case notes.
• Submit your nomination: submit the completed form and supporting documents by the deadline through the designated submission platform or email.

The deadline for submitting nominations is 11.59pm AEST, Sunday 28 September, via the digital portal. If you are having difficulty meeting this deadline or require modifications to the digital nomination process for accessibility reasons, contact the awards co-ordinator for support.

No, nominations must be submitted by others. 

Your nomination should include:

• A completed nomination form
• Detailed responses addressing the award criteria
• Supporting documents and evidence (e.g., references) where requested

Nominations are assessed by a judging panel, and ranked on the following:

• Criteria are weighted per question - refer to individual categories for more information
• Clarity and relevance of responses to the award criteria
• The quality and impact of achievements
• The strength of supporting evidence

• Judges’ decisions are final, and any declared conflicts of interest will be considered prior to final assessment.
• The judging panel may award a ‘Highly Commended’ for the category at their discretion.

• Provide clear, specific examples and evidence
• Ensure your submission directly addresses all award criteria, and that you answer each question.
• Highlight unique achievements and their impact

Generally, once a nomination is submitted, it cannot be revised. However, if you need to make changes, contact the awards co-ordinator as soon as possible to discuss the process.

You will receive a confirmation email upon successful submission of your nomination. If you do not receive confirmation within three business days please contact the awards co-ordinator.

• The nominations will be reviewed by a panel of judges.
• Finalists may be contacted for additional information or clarification.
• Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Friday 28 November, and all nominees will be notified of the results.

Yes, eligibility requirements vary by award category, but all nominees must be current members of the Law Society of NSW. For group submissions, the team must be made up of at least 80 per cent Law Society of NSW members.

Yes, you can submit multiple nominations. Ensure that each nomination is tailored to the specific award category and provides clear, distinct evidence of achievements for each submission.

Finalists will be announced on Friday 31 October, and contacted via phone and email.

If you are selected as a finalist, you will receive one free ticket to the event. Travel costs are not included, finalists must make their own way to the ceremony, and are responsible for their own accommodation.

Please let the awards co-ordinator know if you’re unable to attend the awards ceremony on Friday 28 November. If you’re able to, please nominate someone to accept the award on your behalf. If you do not have a representative to attend on the evening, the President of the Law Society of NSW will accept the award on your behalf.
