Practice Management
Course
Condition 3 is a discretionary condition imposed pursuant to s 53 of the Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW) and Rule 16(b)(ii) of the Legal Profession Uniform General Rules 2015. If a practising certificate is subject to this condition, the holder must (amongst other requirements) complete a Practice Management Course (PMC) before being eligible to apply for the grant of, or variation to a principal of a law practice practising certificate.
The PMC aims to equip legal practitioners with the necessary skills they need to conduct a law practice as a principal.
The Law Society of New South Wales (Law Society) requires independent and satisfactory evidence of completion of a PMC from an accredited PMC provider. Upon completion of a PMC, the accredited PMC provider will notify the Law Society directly in writing, following which, condition 3 will be removed from the practitioner’s practising certificate.
