NSW courts and tribunals

The health and wellbeing of all court and tribunal users is the paramount consideration for NSW courts and tribunals. Measures and precautions are being taken to minimise the risk of transmission of COVID-19. The measures and arrangements in place may differ for NSW courts and tribunals. More here.

Federal Court of Australia

The Federal Court of Australia will begin hearing some matters in-person from next week. The Hon James Allsop AO, Chief Justice, Federal Court of Australia, has issued Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update 24, detailing the changes to court operations. Read more.

NSW Transport COVID initiatives

To help people travel safely on public transport, the NSW Government has announced a number of new transport initiatives including a Travel Insights tool, half-price off-peak travel, and increasing capacity on our trains, buses, ferries and trams, consistent with NSW Health advice. More here.

New cyber task force to drive standards

An Australian first collaboration between the NSW Government, AustCyber and Standards Australia has seen the creation of a task force charged with accelerating the adoption of industry standards for cyber security across Australia. More here.

Businesses seek advice in response to COVID-19

Three in five Australian businesses sought external advice in response to COVID-19, according to the latest results from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) survey on Business Impacts of COVID-19. More here.

Rise in investment scams during COVID-19 pandemic

ASIC has seen a rise in the number of investment scam reports from Australian consumers and investors during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. Reports of misconduct received by ASIC from March to May 2020 are up 20 per cent compared to the same period last year. More here.
