An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a part or full time position to complete the Practical Legal Training at NTSCORP. NTSCORP offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated team in a dynamic environment. The position is based in Redfern, NSW.

Responsibilities include file review, general administration, research, legal drafting, interviewing clients, drafting content for submissions, and follow-up on client matters, under supervision of the practice solicitor.

Status: Two days per week on-site work, Monday to Friday. Please state your preferred days and length of commitment (e.g. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 75 days in total).

NTSCORP welcomes applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People, people from diverse cultural backgrounds and people with disability.

Selection criteria:

  1. Completion of law degree and eligibility to commence Practical Legal Training.
  2. Availability to start as soon as possible. Please state your preferred of days per week and length of commitment (e.g. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 75 days in total).
  3. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to social justice.
  4. Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal societies and cultures.
  5. Capacity to liaise and work with Aboriginal communities.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  8. Demonstrated knowledge of issues affecting NTSCORP’s client groups and a demonstrated interest in native title.
