Inquiry into the operation and adequacy of the National Employment Standards
The Law Society of NSW, informed by its Employment Law Committee, recently made a submission to the Law Council to inform its response to a Commonwealth inquiry into the National Employment Standards. Our submission called for a national long service leave standard and a review of redundancy pay. It also supported requiring employers to provide reasons for termination and recommended clearer guidance around requests to work on public holidays.
