Long weekend regional travel

With NSW reopened for regional travel, travellers are being urged to allow extra journey time and stay safe this Queen’s Birthday long weekend. Double demerits are now in force until 11.59pm on Monday 8 June. More here.

A new parliamentary inquiry into family, domestic and sexual violence is now accepting written submissions addressing one or more of the terms of reference. The closing date for submissions is Friday, 24 July 2020. More here.

COVID-19 Homebuilder program

The Federal Government’s new Homebuilder program will provide all eligible owner-occupiers (not just first home buyers) with a grant of $25,000 to build a new home or substantially renovate an existing home. Mutual obligation requirements for job seekers

Mutual obligation requirements for job seekers will recommence, in a limited capacity, from Tuesday 9 June 2020. From this date, job seekers will be required to undertake at least one appointment with their employment services provider, which can be done online or over the phone. More here.

The Federal Court of Australia is convening is convening an Admiralty and Maritime CPD seminar on “Cruise ships, COVID and Consumers” at 5pm (AEST) on 23 June 2020. The seminar will be chaired by The Hon. Justice McKerracher and convened remotely using Microsoft Teams. More here.
