NSW Young Lawyers
President's Message
Robert Breckenridge - President, NSW Young Lawyers
Robert has been President of NSW Young Lawyers since May 2026 after the previous president, Will Noonan, was called to the NSW Bar. As President, Robert seeks to continue to encourage young and early career lawyers (especially those in rural and regional areas), as well as law students, to join and actively participate in their local law societies and, of course, NSW Young Lawyers.
Robert first joined NSW Young Lawyers in 2018 as a member of the Criminal Law Sub-Committee, serving as Chair from 2024 until 2026. He is currently the Young Lawyers representative to the Law Society’s Ethics Committee, and has previously served as the Young Lawyers representative to the Criminal Law Committee and the Children’s Legal Issues Committee.
Robert was admitted to practice in 2015 and worked for an insolvency practitioner in Sydney before joining the NSW Police Force in 2018 through the Accelerated Prosecutor Recruitment Program. He is currently working as a Police Prosecutor in Sydney where he holds the rank of Sergeant and appears in the Local and District Courts.
Robert completed his undergraduate studies at Macquarie University and his postgraduate studies at the Australian National University. Outside of work, Robert is a volunteer firefighter with the NSW Rural Fire Service.
Sincerely,
Robert Breckenridge.
