Specialist Accreditation - recognised expertise

I’m pleased to share an update on this year’s Specialist Accreditation Program, including the exciting addition of Elder Law - the first new accreditation area in more than a decade. If you’re considering formal recognition of your expertise, now is the perfect time to explore the program.

With practising certificate renewals coming up in April, please ensure your communication email and employment details with the Law Society are current. Keeping your information up to date ensures you receive all important regulatory notices. Update your employment details here, or your personal details here.

Reminder: CPD year concludes on 31 March 2026
There are only five weeks to complete your CPD requirements by Tuesday, 31 March 2026. Meeting CPD obligations is a statutory condition of your practising certificate, and you’ll be asked to confirm compliance during your renewal application. If you are eligible to apply for an exemption, please complete an online form. Please visit our CPD page for more information.

Digital Survey Plans (DPS) reform - legal professionals briefing now available
The LRS Digital Plans industry briefing, held on 4 February, is now available to view online. Access the recording, slides and previous materials, and stay up to date on DSP via the Digital Plans training resources page. Legal professionals using LRS Connect can also register for the 18 March Digital Forms Training wishing to use the same link.

Contract for the Sale and Purchase of Land - 2026 edition
The 2026 edition, which includes a new cooling off notice, will be released on Monday, 2 March 2026. The 2022 edition will be withdrawn from sale on Friday, 13 March 2026. Contracts or options may include either the old or new cooling off notice until Sunday, 31 May 2026; read more here. An insert page containing the new cooling off notice will also be made available on the Law Society’s Digital Contracts Service FAQs page.
