The Australian Government has made a commitment to reach ‘net zero’ emissions by 2050, and, together with state and local governments, Australian businesses are setting emissions goals.

Given the extent of the changes this will require for our economy and workforce, how can we assist clients in navigating the complex legal and compliance issues of a low carbon economy while ensuring a just transition?

The Law Society of NSW and NSW Young Lawyers will bring together four leading Australian experts to discuss the legal aspects of climate pledges. They will focus on the role of legal professionals in achieving ‘net zero’ whilst considering the economic and social costs and opportunities.
