Incivility is one of the most widely reported challenges in the legal sector, and one that most solicitors will personally experience or witness during their careers.Navigating incivility on a daily basis and building relationships within a stressful environment can be draining, defeating, and can make work feel unbearable.
Josephine Waugh, Wellbeing Officer at the Law Society of NSW, will lead an evidence-informed session exploring the sources of incivility and the impact this hazard has on solicitors, both personally and professionally. Attendees will explore methods of communication that promote and protect healthy workplace relationships and interactions and learn techniques to deal with uncivil behaviour from a range of stakeholders.
