President of the Law Society of NSW, John Dobson, has congratulated prominent Southern Sydney lawyer and media personality, Sam Macedone, recipient of the 2013 President's Medal.

The annual Law Society of NSW President's Medal recognises the significant personal and professional contributions made by a solicitor member to the betterment of law and justice in the community.

Mr Dobson presented the medal to Mr Macedone at the Law Society's Annual Members Dinner, at Doltone House Hyde Park last night.

"Sam is a highly respected solicitor whose contribution to the profession has been unwavering," Mr Dobson said.

"Over the years he has mentored and provided expert advice to many young lawyers, and he is regarded to be of the highest standing by those who know him and those in the legal profession.

"Sam is a former President and life member of the St George and Sutherland Regional Law Society and an active member of the Law Society's Specialist Accreditation Advisory Committee," he said.

Sam Macedone appears regularly on Channel 9 for the Today Show, A Current Affair and Channel 9 News. He also appears on radio 2GB and 2UE on legal matters.

Having now been in practice for more than 43 years, Mr Macedone now makes himself available to anyone who has a legal problem and is in need of a spokesperson or an advocate.

He is also currently a board member of the Enough is Enough organisation, which assists people who need guidance with the law.
