Objectives: To facilitate networking for local practitioners and to provide MCLE seminars for the benefit of all members who are often unable to attend such events held in Sydney; To support local communities through the provision bursaries and scholarships and by assisting the Law Society's Mock Trial Competition. Membership: CWLS welcomes all new practitioners to the region and encourages them to join. To be a member you must be a practitioner working in the region, or be a law student within the region. Annual fees: $20
The Central West Law Society covers Bathurst, Blayney, Cowra, Forbes, Parkes, Grenfell, Condobolin, Orange, Rylstone, Millthorpe and Canowindra. We aim to provide high-quality, relevant, cost-effective CLE opportunities and some social events for practitioners in our region. Our events are open to financial members and non-members alike.
Our annual financial membership for the Central West Law Society is $20 per annum. It provides you with discounts to our MCLE seminars and social events. We hope you will continue to be a financial member by completing and returning the membership form. The CWLS also welcomes new practitioners to the region and encourages those who have not already joined to do so.
We will hold social events throughout the year but if other areas wish to host a function for local lawyers please do not hesitate to contact the CWLS Committee to discuss how we can assist to fund and promote the event.
We held a half day CLE planned on 23 March in Orange. This will be on Elder Law and Capacity topics.
We will again hold our annual conference in November 2018, this year in Orange.
