Law Society Library
The Law Society Library is a practical collection of publications which aims to meet the information needs of solicitors practising in NSW. The collection includes judgements, law reports, legislation, practice books, text books and journals from all Australian jurisdictions.
Free access is available in the Library to the internet and a number of online subscription services.
Location and opening hours
The Library is located on the first floor of the Law Society at 170 Phillip St, Sydney.
Opening hours are 8:00 am - 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.

Catalogue search
Members of the Law Society only may search the Library catalogue online.
Loans and requests for services
Country and suburban members may request loans, and all members may request the faxing / photocopying service and research service.
To submit requests, either send a fax to 02 9221 1917 or complete the appropriate request form, for dispatch by Document Exchange (DX) or Post.
Please note the following:
- The loan period is one week. Fines may be incurred for the late return of loans.
- Faxing/photocopying cost is: 50c per page with a minimum charge $25.
- A fee may be charged for the research service. Library staff will provide fee details before requests are processed.
