Solicitors in the community

Part of ensuring fair justice outcomes is making sure all members of the community have access to justice. This has always been an integral ethos of the legal profession and many solicitors believe their position imposes a duty to give something back to society.

To support this ethos, the Law Society actively encourages solicitors to engage with their local communities by sharing their legal expertise and knowledge, either in a formal capacity through pro bono work or through more informal means, such as community events.

At the same time, the Law Society also works to demystify the legal profession and the law, so that community memebrs both understand their rights and responsibilities and feel confident in seeking out help when necessary.
