Submissions
The Committee aims to influence government policy and legislation through issuing written submissions. Current submissions include one to the ASX Regulatory and Policy Unit on ASK Corporate Governance Review. For our past submissions see the Young Lawyers Submissions page.
Publications
As part of our commitment to promoting knowledge of Business Law throughout the profession, the Committee produces a number of useful publications for practitioners.
Getting Down To Business: This monthly publication draws its material from the watching brief reports that committee members regularly present at our monthly meetings. The publication is designed to have a low impact on the contributors’ already busy schedules and does so by drawing on material that they were already producing for the monthly meetings. Articles are short, sharp and to the point, with further detail providing through links to related websites. Download previous editions below.
Practitioner’s Guide to Corporate Law: This publication has been produced to assist young lawyers with fundamental terms, concepts and procedures relating to corporate law. The guide provides important, practical information concerning selected areas of corporate law in an easy to read format.
Directors’ Duties Checklist: This short and concise Directors Duties Checklist has been prepared to assist practitioners in advising their clients about possible liability issues affecting them as Company Directors. The checklist is also useful for members of the public who would like to know more about liability issues before becoming Company Directors.
