Authorised deposit-taking institutions (ADIs)
Under the Legal Profession Act 2004, a general trust bank account can only be established in an approved authorised deposit-taking institution (approved ADI).

The following institutions are approved to hold general trust accounts in New South Wales (as at 20 April 2007).

Controlled money accounts
A controlled money account may be opened with any of the above ADIs or any other ADI. See the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority’s approved list of ADIs.
