On 12 October we paid tribute to the life and work of Charles Richard Xuereb.
Emeritus Professor Geoffrey Gallop AC gave a special keynote presentation on mental health and wellbeing in the law – a cause that was close to Charles’ heart. Geoffrey is a Rhodes Scholar and former premier of Western Australia who resigned from politics in early 2006 to aid his own recovery from depression.
October is Mental Health Month and the Law Society will be hosting activities to help raise awareness around mental health and wellbeing. It’s a fitting time to commemorate Charles' legacy and commitment to serving the community through his work with Stepping Stone House, as well as his dedication to the legal profession.
