Broken Hill is a remote Community in the Far West of New South Wales which has some good community resources such as the Community Legal Centre, Aboriginal Warra Warra Legal Service. There is a Correctional Facility located in town along with a number of support services.
Broken Hill Local Court will open it's doors on Tuesday 13 August 2019 to increase Community awareness of the Law, Legal System and resources available. Staff at the Court along with Aboriginal Services Unit Staff will provide a sausage/steak sizzle, conduct tours of the Local Courts this will provide an opportunity to showcase one of Broken Hill's finest heritage buildings, of interest not only to the local community, but to visitors as well.
We will also assist the running of a mock court for students. Invitations are extended to the wider community of Wilcannia and Menindee to join us on our promotional day of Law Week.
