The Law and You

The day will focus on legal rights and responsibilities for those who are studying AMEP English at Navitas Cabramatta College and are newly arrived migrants and refugees from different countries in South East Asia and the Middle East.

A variety of legal sessions will be delivered which will include:

  • Fines and WDOs
  • Police Powers
  • Employment Rights

There will also be stalls and displays from Government Departments and NGOs including:

  • NSW Department of Justice
  • The Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages
  • Victim Services
  • Housing Tenancy Advocacy Services
  • Legal Aid NSW (Refugee Services)
  • Centrelink
  • CORE Community Services
