The Law Society of NSW operates a Pro Bono Referral Scheme for eligible members of the community who cannot afford the cost of a solicitor and who are not eligible for Legal Aid.

Funding for the Pro Bono Scheme is mainly provided by the Public Purpose Fund, which allows this important facility to continue to grow and to maintain its effective service delivery. The Law Society contributes to the Scheme by providing and funding its infrastructure requirements.
