Publications and FAQs

The Law Society produces a number of online and printed publications for members of the public and solicitors.

Buying and Selling a property in NSW

The Law Society's checklists on buying and selling a house or apartment in NSW answer common questions about the buying and selling process and how a solicitor guides a client through each step.

These guides include useful information on important topics such as:

  • Buying a property at auction
  • Buying a strata title property
  • How to prepare a contract for sale
  • How the conveyancing process works.

Download Your Guide to Buying a Property and Your Guide to Selling a Property here.

The Law Society also produces and distributes a number of other resources to help members of the public understand the law.

Legal help links – a directory of links to organisations and government departments providing legal advice, information and other services.

Publications from NSW Young Lawyers

NSW Young Lawyers has researched and written several free publications for the community. All are written in an easy-to-understand style and offer suggestions for further assistance.

These are for information purposes only and should not be taken or relied upon as legal advice. Nor are they intended as a substitute for legal advice from a qualified solicitor who is familiar with the facts of your particular case.
