Associate Membership

If you are studying law, a law graduate, or undertaking Practical Legal Training you may be able to become an Associate Member of the Law Society of NSW.

Although this membership does not entitle you to practise as a solicitor in NSW, you can gain access to a comprehensive range of discounts, benefits and opportunities.

Who is eligible?

Any person who is studying law or has successfully completed a course in law at any university, college or institution in New South Wales recognised by the Legal Profession Admission Board and who signifies the intention to practise as a solicitor.

How do I apply?

To apply for Associate Membership follow these steps:

1. Download the Application for Associate Membership.
2. Fully complete the application form – answer all questions, sign the form and attach a photocopy of your Student Identification Card together with evidence you are studying law (i.e. academic transcripts).
3. Send the completed application, together with payment of fees, to the Law Society’s Registry.
