Activities and benefits

Being a member of a Young Lawyers Committee has many benefits. Our Committees are a significant vehicle for NSW Young Lawyers to participate in a wide range of activities and projects and ultimately make a contribution that benefits both the profession and community.

What committees do

While each Committee has specific aims and priorities, members are usually involved in the following types of activities:

  • Writing submissions on proposed policy or law changes.
  • Organising seminars and forums for the benefit of young lawyers, the profession and the community.
  • Creating, organising and implementing projects for the benefit of young people or the disadvantaged.
  • Organising networking and other social events.
  • Monitoring and informing members of legal, procedural and commercial developments in the Committee's practice area.
