Human Rights Committee

About us

The work of human rights lawyers and legal professionals spans such a vast array of topic areas and fields of practice that there really no such thing as a ‘typical’ human rights lawyer.  And the members of our committee are no exception! We are a diverse and active group of young lawyers and volunteers who all share a commitment to affecting change within the areas of Human Rights.

The objectives of the Human Rights Committee are to:

  • raise awareness about Australian and international human rights issues, including the Rule of Law
  • lobby and comment on legislative and policy changes at both federal and state levels
  • provide education to the legal profession and wider community about Human Rights and the Rule of Law.
