About us
The Employment and Industrial Law Committee is made up of a diverse group of young lawyers and students with an interest in discussing and shaping changes in employment and industrial law. Our members include lawyers in private practice, trade unions, government and in-house, as well as associates, tipstaffs and law students.
We have more than 150 members and regularly organise a range of social and networking events, so becoming involved with our Committee is a great opportunity for you to meet other young lawyers in your specialist area, acquire skills and develop your career.
Our committee objectives are to:
- engage in discussion and debate in the profession and community about employment and industrial law
- provide networking opportunities and peer support for young practitioners involved in employment and industrial law
- educate the legal profession and the wider community about employment and industrial law
- provide a forum for young practitioners to discuss and debate employment and industrial law issues
- monitor developments in employment and industrial law, including areas of reform at both federal and state levels.
