The Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Committee plays a vital role in the continued vibrancy and relevance of NSW Young Lawyers, developing and staging a series of seminars and legal education events througout the year.
Our committee is made up of lawyers from a variety of backgrounds and practising in different areas of law, with each bringing their own experience and knowledge to the table.
All Young Lawyers’ committees are actively involved in organising our CLE program, ensuring that we can react and respond quickly to changes in the law which require further education of the profession.
Our programs
The Committee has organised some of the most innovative and interesting CLE seminars in NSW in the past, and we will continue to strive to deliver a high-quality innovative program in the future.
We aim to present a diverse and competitive CLE program in metropolitan, regional and rural areas of NSW to suit the needs of all members of the legal profession. One of the keys to our success is our commitment to selecting presenters who are the forefront of their respective areas of practice.
Currently the Committee organises three concurrent programs:
- Monthly seminars - these comprise both lunch-time and evening seminars, which deal with a variety of issues - from tax law to drink driving;
- One-day seminars - these seminars focus on various different areas of law, including property law, civil litigation, criminal law, family law and industrial relations; the Committee also organises our highly successful Advocacy and Evidence seminars; and
- Regional CLE seminars - we have devised a rolling seminar program throughout regional NSW for the benefit of regional practitioners.
