President's Message – October/November 2010
The Annual Assembly Conference of NSW Young Lawyers is almost upon us.
The organisation and its leadership team are excited about 13 and 14 of November, as we will play host to our delegates and members for what is turning out to be one of our largest Conferences yet.
The theme of this year's Conference is 'Growth & Change'. The organisation that represents you in the legal profession and the broader Australian community has grown markedly in recent years and has changed almost beyond recognition from past years to an effective force in the discussions surrounding policy and legal reform.
It continues to lead the debate on issues such as mental health in the profession, the need for civics education and the safeguarding of social justice.
It is in that context that I invite you to join us at the Annual Assembly Conference of this organisation. By attending the Conference, you will:
- become involved in your organisation
- see great speakers, including the Hon Justice Bergin of the Supreme Court of NSW, our 2010 Patron, and
- even earn 3 CLE units.
On Saturday night, join us for the Gala Dinner, where we will present our inaugural Patron Awards. On Sunday, observe our elections and take the opportunity to review our plans for the future.
All in all, it's a great opportunity for you to join your colleagues and friends for an exciting, informating and interesting weekend.
