President's Message – February/March 2010
The past few weeks have certainly been busy for NSW Young Lawyers. Early in February, Young Lawyers hosted a delegation from the American Bar Association and co-hosted a moot court demonstration along with the University of Sydney to a packed crowd of our members. Our International Law Committee has also recently launched its much-anticipated Practitioner’s Guide to International Law with the support of its sponsors, Federation Press and Allens Arthur Robinson. The Honourable Robert French AO, Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia, launched the Guide. Click here to check out this great publication!
Other upcoming publications to look out for include our Animal Law handbook and the newest edition of our Practitioner’s Guide to Civil Litigation. Watch this space!
Last week, NSW Young Lawyers members were also present at a number of universities in Sydney and met our student members during universities’ orientation events! We are going to be represented at the Law Careers Fair in Sydney on 26 March. We look forward to seeing you then!
Our two signature events are also coming up. Soon, you will receive an invitation to attend our Golden Gavel breakfast, where you will enjoy a morning of great entertainment from the most comedic of our members. In September, we look forward to meeting you at our 2010 Young Professionals Charity Ball. That’s certainly an event not to miss!
