Information Nights

These evenings provide the opportunity for prospective applicants to ask questions about  the required standard and assessments for each area of practice being offered for accreditation this year.

To apply, download and complete the Application (FORM 1) below, then return it to the Law Society as detailed on the form.

2010 Application – FORM 1

NOTE:  For practitioners completing the application for accreditation, please note where there is no check box supplied for the area of accreditation, you will need to mark where best appropriate. Due to an omission on Form 1 (page 2), no selection box has been provided for the areas of accreditation, only for the bands and mock-files options. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Applications for the 2010 Program remain open until 21 April 2010. Late applications will not be accepted.

Exemptions and advanced standing

If an applicant does not meet the requirements, it is possible to request that the Specialist Accreditation Board use its discretion to accept an application.

All such requests must be submitted in writing using FORM 1 (above) and FORM 2.

Assessment requirements

The assessment requirements for each area of practice sets out the core skill and knowledge expected of candidates, as well as the details of the assessment components.

Assessment Sample Kits

Assessment Sample Kits are now available to purchase for Personal Injury and Local Government and Planning. The kits contain samples of assessments submitted in previous years, as a showcase of the standard of work expected from candidates.

Please note the assessment content will vary from year to year, however the expected standard remains constant. The kits can be purchased for $150 from the Law Society Shop, 170 Phillip Street, online or at the Information Nights.
